A special 36,000 visa allotment outside their worldwide allocation limits

available to employees of United States businesses above a certain size operating in Hong Kong.

Beneficiaries may defer their departure from Hong Kong until end-2001. The number of visas available in this category is 12,000 per year for three fiscal years beginning 1991. The qualifying employee must be:-

a resident of Hong Kong and is employed in Hong Kong during the 12 previous consecutive months as an officer Or supervisor or in a capacity that is managerial, executive, or involves specialized knowledge, by a business entity which is owned and organized in the United States (or is the subsidiary or affiliate of a business owned and organized in the United States); and

has an offer of employment from such business entity in the United States as an officer or supervisor or in a capacity that is managerial, executive, or involves specialized knowledge.
