As the parents of a family living in Hong Kong, and as a very frequent visitor to Hong Kong, we ask you please to grant British Citizenship to the remaining twenty-four women whose husbands died defending Hong Kong from the Japanese.

J

On my many visits to Hong Kong I have grown to love the noise, bustle, lights, and most of all the people. I have become interested in the history of Hong Kong and of China, complicated though that is, so I do beg you to think about the emotional side of the lives of these women, and of any other residents who are worried about their future status in the days after 1997.

My sincere good wishes to Chris Patten in his attempts to reach. solutions to the problems still facing Hong Kong, and, of course, to you and the Government.

Yours sincerely

Joan Wise
