Thank you for your letter of 14 December to Simon Vickers. The first Phase-End Report prepared by Immigration Department follows by fax. A copy will be

sent to you by bag.

I apologize for not having sent the report to you earlier. I had hoped to include statistics from Ottawa and Washington in the report as an indication of how well was the programme known overseas. To date I have not received any return from these posts. I will write to you again as soon as I have them.

Some overseas posts have started to refer all the late applications they received to us. This is probably due to absence of guidance on how to deal with these late applications on their part. I should be grateful if you would request the Nationality, Treaty and Claims Department to issue the relevant DSP amendments as soon as possible.
