We would, I think, have fewer objections to allowing someone to have a valid entry clearance transferred from one passport to another provided the original is clearly endorsed to show it has been transferred to another passport. I accept that this endorsement might, however, defeat the object of the request for the transfer. We should not, though, concede the general principle that only one valid entry clearance should be in existence.
