PHASED PROGRAMME FOR REGISTERING BDTCS AS BN809S: OVERSEAS PUBLICITY
1.
Thank you for your letter of 25 May.
2. We would be quite happy to help you publicise the phased programme introduced by the Order in Council through our overseas posts. No doubt you will also have taken into account the requirements of the United Kingdom Passport Agency who will wish to publicise the phased programme in this country.
3. We do not know how many posters and leaflets will be required by our offices/posts but initial printing of four posters for every one of them and 500,000 leaflets should meet immediate demand. When we inform posts of the phased programme we shall let them know that both the posters and the leaflets are available from the Hong Kong Immigration Department from whom they should order their requirements direct.
4.
It would also be useful if you could send posts guidelines on the special considerations which should be taken into account when receiving late applications and the procedures to be followed in such cases. For example, would the Hong Kong Government want all late applications to be referred to them for consideration?
ever,
Yours
John
