As regards your proposal of setting a later deadline for naturalisation/registration applications in your letter of 26 March, we think that our original proposal should be maintained, There will be some 2.2 million potential applicants for naturalisation/ ronistration by 1996. Even if only half of them applies we will still have 1 million applications to deal with.
