business efforts in Korea, including private and public sector

participation in a British pavilion at Taejon Expo being held in

Korea August to November 1993.

(v) To reassure the Koreans, if need be, in the wake of the

removal this March of our small UN Honour Guard contingent, that

we remain committed to the role of the UN command in Korea

including the UN Military Armistice Commission on which we have

a seat.

4. The programmes as suggested by Sir John Boyd in Japan and

David Wright in Seoul seem to cater well for these objectives.

We have no particular alternative suggestions at this stage though there is plenty of scope for changes if the Secretary of

State has other ideas.
