I have been asked to inform you that the President of Ireland will be making a private visit to Hong Kong next month. She will be arriving from New Zealand on 23 September and leaving for India on 26 September.

The Department of Foreign Affairs are in touch with the Hong Kong authorities through the Honorary Consul there, and Mr John Burke, who has recently been appointed Chief of Protocol, will be in Hong Kong on 25-26 August to meet his counterpart and to discuss arrangements for the President's visit.
