It would also be much appreciated if some suitable meetings could be arranged for the 20 businessmen. Essentially they are Looking for joint ventures and inward investment. Perhaps the Trade Development Council might offer to see them and put them in touch with suitable contacts.

7. COMMENT: This attempt at 'ouncing you into approving official status for the visit is a little embarrassing. That said, the dividends for Hong Kong in terms of goodwill, and possibly more substantially, could be worthwhile. We would welcome your early views on how you would wish us to respond.
