initial contract stages and the site formation and foundation

work are well underway. OED has submitted for final Treasury

approval and will shortly also be submitting to Mr Goodlad a

proposed list of contractors (most of whom are likely to be

British) to be invited to tender for the above ground work in

Spring 1994.

Residence

9.

The need for an appropriate Residence after 1997 is well

recognised. We intend to return to the search with HKG once the

new SBTC is fully settled in.
