Your telno 26: President Bush's Visit to Hong Kong
1. Thank you for TUR. Citibank, which is sponsoring President Bush's visit to Hong Kong, has as you said approached the Governor regarding a call by President Bush. The Governor has said that he would be delighted to see President Bush at 3.30 pm on 15 November. Although we have informed Citibank about this we would be grateful if you would pass the message to President Bush's office.
2. Originally the Governor was thinking of offering a meal for President Bush. However this has now been overtaken by a dinner to be hosted by Citibank, to which President Bush and the Governor have been invited to attend. The Governor has accepted the invitation already. You may also wish to note that Citibank has also invited, among others, Zhou Nan of the Hong Kong Branch of the NCNA to attend. We are not sure whether Zhou Nan will accept the invitation.
