Further to my letter of 24 May 1993, Members will also raise the following topic with the Minister at the meeting on 1 June 1993

Extension of the United Nations Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women to Hong Kong

On 16.12.1992, the Legislative Council passed a motion which read :

"That this Council calls on the Administration to support the extension to Hong Kong of the United Nations Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women and to request the British Government to take the necessary action to so extend the Convention forthwith."

Members would like to hear HMG's position on the matter.

This topic will be raised after "Application of the International Convenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR)".
