Mr Goodlad's office have now confirmed that the Minister plans to visit Hong Kong first, and travel on to Bangkok on the evening of 12 October, staying until 14 or 15 October. This remains subject to the agreement of the Secretary of State and the availability of ministerial cover.

Grateful for your ideas for a programme for the Minister. is currently abroad and would be able to comment on an outline on his return on 15 August. There may be scope to follow up some of the ideas in Bangkok Telno 644 of 8 September 1992 which could not be included in last year's visit.
