hopefully, the Treasury will by then have reached come conclusion on sterling safeguards for pensions and other financial issues involving HMOCS. The Minister might also undertake some British business promotion activity, depending on the options at the time. We could also identify a subordinate theme for the visit, eg the environment or transport (on previous occasions, the Minister has undertaken programmes focussing on law and order and science and telecommunications).

4. The Governor would welcome a visit by Mr Goodlad during the Whitsun Recess. I should be grateful for your confirmation that the Secretary of State is also content, to enable us to make the detailed plans for the visit.
