We have received from the Australian High Commission in London a copy of a telegram giving the text of a question and answer in the Senate on 21 October. I attach a copy. You will see that in his reply to the question, Mr Evans states that there has been no change in Australia's position on political reform in Hong Kong.

3. There is no need for you to take any action unless Hong Kong request otherwise.
