BRITISH-GERMAN SUMMIT: DRAFT PRESS STATEMENT

1.

I attach

(i) a draft speaking note for the Prime Minister's use at

the joint Press Conference at the British-German Summit

later this week.

(ii) a draft telegram to Bonn containing a "check-list" of

the main points of the speaking note to be shown to the

Germans in advance of the Summit.

(iii) a draft Private Secretary letter to PS/No 10 covering

(i) above.

2. These papers are broadly self-explanatory.
