SECRETARY OF STATE'S VISIT TO SWEDEN ON 26/27 APRIL: CALL FOR BRIEFS
1.
The Secretary of State will be visiting Sweden on Monday 26 and Tuesday 27 April. He will hold talks with the Swedish Prime Minister, Foreign Minister and Minister for European Affairs. We still await formal agendas from the Swedes, but all are likely to touch on European affairs. We understand the Swedish Prime Minister will concentrate on Russia and the Baltic States while the Foreign Minister will cover other broad foreign policy issues.
2. We should be grateful if briefs (points to make on blue crested, background on white paper) could please be provided by close of play on Wednesday 21 April and sent to Room W 119, as follows:

- EC Enlargement: Views of the Spanish (a current
