THE GOVERNOR'S TAX POSITION
1.
Mr Goodlad may wish to be aware that the Hong Kong
Government (HKG) have issued a press release announcing the appointment of a three member panel to review the Governor's tax position. A copy of the press release and a confidential background note produced by the HKG for the information of the three panel members are attached.
2. We will include in Mr Goodlad's briefing for his trip to Hong Kong a note on this and a line to take if he is asked to
comment.
