to any technical modification agreed by the Parties and to extension by giving
six months' written notice to the other through the diplomatic channel; and
In relation to the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, to the Hong Kong
Special Administrative Region.
ARTICLE 22
Transitional Provision
This Agreement shall apply to offences committed before the entry into force
of this Agreement other than offences in respect of which proceedings for surrender had
already begun before the entry into force of this Agreement.
ARTICLE 23
Entry into force, Suspension and Termination
(1)
This Agreement shall enter into force thirty days after the date on which the
Parties have notified each other in writing that their respective requirements for the entry into force of this Agreement have been complied with.
(2)
Either Party may suspend or terminate this Agreement at any time by giving
notice to the other through the same channels as a request for the surrender of a fugitive offender. Suspension shall take effect on receipt of a notice to suspend. In the case of
termination the Agreement shall cease to have effect six months after the receipt of a notice
to terminate.
In witness hereof the undersigned, being duly authorised by their respective
Governments, have signed this Agreement.
