Registration of Hong Kong Agreements with UN

Thank you for your letter of 21 July 1993.
We agree that it would be sensible for us to follow the same procedures as to the registration of all I, therefore, enclose Hong Kong/Netherlands and Protection of
Hong Kong's bilateral agreements. three copies of the gazetted Agreement on the Encouragement Investments as requested, together with а copy of the notifications under Article 12 (1) of the Agreement, which will bring it into force on the 1 September this year. We would be most grateful if you could arrange for these to be passed onto UKMis New York for registration at the UN.

As you will see, we had not previously sent you copies of the gazetted agreement, because it has not yet entered into force and, until 2 August, it was uncertain when it would be likely to do so.
4.
The Agreement with the Netherlands on Surrender of Fugitive Offenders is not in force as legislation has yet to be enacted in Hong Kong in order to give effect to some of its provisions. When the date for entry into force becomes more certain, we will, of course, let you know and send you gazetted copies of the agreement for registration in the usual way.
