aircraft for use for military purposes of specified States

As mentioned in para. 7 above, one of the United Kingdom
enactments which apply to Hong Kong is the Carriage by Air Acts
(Application of Provisions) (Overseas Territories) Order 1967.
addition to preserving the effect of the unamended Warsaw Convention
as described in para. 7, this Order also contains provisions
relating to carriage by air not governed by that Convention and to
carriage by mail and postal packages. The British side proposes
that the localising Bill outlined in this paper should also localise
those provisions of the Order.
Future adaptation
13.
Nearer to 1997 certain amendments to the localising
legislation mentioned in this paper will be required to ensure that
it does not contravene the Basic Law. One example is the reference
to "the Governor" as in para. 11 above. The British side will in
due course consult the Chinese side on any such amendments in
accordance with the agreed principles for consultation on adaptation
of laws.
