The Convention on the Unification of certain Rules
relating to International Carriage by Ar performed by a
Person
other than the Contracting Carrier ("the Guadalajara Convention")
was ratified by the United Kingdom on September 1962 and was
applied to Hong Kong on 15 March 1967.

In order to give effect in the United Kingdom to the
Warsaw Convention the United Kingdom enacted the Carriage by Air Act
1932 ("the 1932 Act"). In order to give effect in Hong Kong to the
Warsaw Convention, certain provisions of the 1932 Act were extended to Hong Kong by the Carriage by Air (Colonies, Protectorates and
Trust Territories) Order 1953 ("the 1953 Order").

In order to give effect in the United Kingdom to the
Warsaw Convention as amended by the Hague Protocol, the United
Kingdom repealed the 1932 Act and in its place enacted the Carriage
by Air Act 1961 ("the 1961 Act"). In order to give effect in the
United Kingdom to the Guadalajara Convention the United Kingdom
enacted the Carriage by Air (Supplementary Provisions) Act 1962
("the 1962 Act"). In order to give effect in Hong Kong to the
Warsaw Convention as amended by the Hague Protocol and to the
Guadalajara Convention, the United Kingdom revoked the 1953 Order and in its place extended certain provisions of both the 1961 Act
and the 1962 Act to Hong Kong by the Carriage by Air (Overseas
Territories) Order 1967.
