HONG KONG: PATENTS REFORM

Stewart Booth has suggested that you would be the best person to contact in the first instance.

2. I would be most grateful for your advice on the enclosed letters of 25 and 27 May which we have received from the Secretary for Trade and Industry, Hong Kong, concerning proposals to reform the Hong Kong patents system. A copy of the report of the Patents Steering Committee is also enclosed.

3.

In addition to advice on the specific questions raised by the Secretary for Trade and Industry, we would welcome general comments on the proposals, for example whether they are practical or would cause problems for the UK or UK companies.

4. It would also be helpful to have an indication of when you might be in a position to reply as it may be appropriate for us to send a holding reply.

Yours ver

Anna dile Bouch.
