In response to my predecessor, Ted Bousfield's minute of 11 May you wrote to him on 29 June to advise him that the question of the UK's treaty relationships with the Hong Kong SAR after 1997 would be considered shortly. You undertook to let him know the outcome. I would like to let colleagues in the Home Office know where matters stand. Have any conclusions been reached?
