FORTHCOMING NEGOTIATIONS WITH HONG KONG
talks.
Teken 8/12. Mrs Evans will now be able to
attend all 3 days of these extradition Wendy Wyver tells me that the extradition talks are to take place on 13, 14 and 15 (am) December and the mutual legal assistance talks on 16 and 17 December. I am afraid that this means that I shall not be able to attend all the talks. Having discussed it with colleagues here, I hope that you will find the following acceptable. What we propose is that I should be present on 13 December, David Bentley on 14 December, David or I on 15 December and Hugh Giles on 16 and 17 December. You know David well. Hugh Giles works on the MLA side here and I shall brief him fully on our own recent discussions and would intend to look at your negotiating brief and play a full part in providing the material which the Home Office agreed to do at your meetings on 12 and 23 November.
I am copying this to David, Hugh, Geoffrey Sonnenberg, Alison Rutherford and Wendy Wyver.
you.
