Martin Glass tells me that the question Of a UK/HKSAR ASA was discussed during Goldman and Fielder's (DOT) visit here in the third week in June and that they confirmed that DOT would want to lead for the UK in the discussions. That, of course, is fine by us and I can confirm that Martin Glass will lead for our side with me (or possibly Joanne Foakes) giving legal advice.

We were interested in the contents of paragraph 2 of your letter about the VAA. Immigration Department is considering what you said and we may wish to back to you on this before we meet in December.
