Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters

I am writing us a follow-up to the correspondence between Peter Ricketts and David Edwards of 23 June and

5 July in relation to the above.

A. Surrender of Fugitive Offenders

The text we settle here will have to be quite close to the model. You have the texts of the agreements with Canada, Australia, Malaysia and the Netherlands. of the Articles in these texts are an improvement on the model and could be included. No doubt you will be having discussions with the Home Office on this. But we should keep changes to a minimum and go no further than texts already agreed with the Chinese.
