From 1 January 1994 visa applications from properly documented citizens of the PRC for visits to the UK of up to one year need no longer be referred in advance to MVD, except where there is an entry on the Visa Warning List (VWL). Visas may be issued on a "grant and report" basis. Applications from visitors wishing to remain in the UK for more than one year should continue to be referred.
3. Posts are reminded that they need to be satisfied that all applicants meet the requirements of the Immigration Rules and that the VWLis invariably checked before issue.
4. Under the "grant and report" system, posts which receive a Large number of applications should send daily telegraphic or telex reports giving basic details of visas issued, with original
