STATUS OF THE RED CROSS POST 1997

The Countess of Limerick and two other directors of the British Red Cross will be calling on Peter Ricketts on Tuesday 11 May to discuss the provisions in the Basic Laws relating to non-profit making organisations such as the Red Cross.

i am happy to explain to them that they are covered by BL 144, 146, 148 and 149. I am also aware of the ICRC ordinance. I do however seem to recall that there has been communication between HKG and the Red Cross in Hong Kong over their status post 1997, and I believe over their relations with the UK organisation. Could you check the file and see if my memory is correct on this point? Thanks.
