Amnesty International Hong Kong Section has just drawn our attention to a World Conference on Human Rights convened by the UN General Assembly, which will be held in Vienna, Austria from 14 to 25 June, and to a Preparatory Meeting of Regional governments in Bangkok from 29 March to 2 April 1993. Since this is the first time we have heard of this
Conference, I should be grateful if you could provide us with further relevant information on it. For example, what is the purpose of the Conference, whether the UK Government will participate in it, and whether you need any input on the Hong Kong angle. It would also be helpful to know if any non-governmental organizations would be represented in the Conference.
As we need to send an appropriate response to Amnesty International's enquiries, I should be grateful for your early advice on the above.
Yours sincerely
