1. I enclose a copy of a minute which gives details of a proposal for the UK to join the USA in an Advance

Notification to the ITU (International Telecommunication Union) on behalf of Asia Pacific Space and Communications Ltd, who wish to operate a satellite system from the Marshall Islands.

2.

The DTI is in favour, to show support for British Aerospace.

But we need to check that there are no objections from Hong Kong or any likely problems with other countries in the region.

3. Grateful for any comments you may have by 18 May if possible, given the tight deadline. I am copying this to Andrew Pyne in ESB.
