the,

APT Satellite Network Application

Apologies for not replying earlier to your letter of

Your news of APT's parallel approach to the Chinese over orbital slots caused some consternation here; the company had not kept us properly in the picture.

APT apparently intend to operate the satellites and associated radio stations under Hong Kong licences whilst proposing that the satellites be allocated orbital slots under Chinese administration. This obviously raises some tricky policy and legal issues which we are now giving thought to. We hope to revert to you on these within June.

Agency that we them and the ITU!

Yours sincerely,

(Andrew Pyne)
