YOUR TELNO 1864 TO FCO: DIRECT ACCESS TO INTELSAT SATELLITE CAPACITY

With apologies for delay in replying to TUR, DTI Telecommunications and Posts (DTI/TP) have told us they had already contacted the Office of the Telecommunications Authority in Hong Kong about arrangements for operators to access INTELSAT satellite capacity (Davies' letter of 1 November to K S Wong will be sent by fax to you).
2.
The DTI share the wish expressed in para 2 of TUR that the arrangements for direct access be extended as widely as possible. Although the detailed mechanics remain to be determined, they hope that a blanket authorisation will be possible (which would be preferable to a case-by-case approach).
