(subsoil, building material, outdoors) contributing to the indoor-radon and thoron levels; the impact on the collective dose due to the increasing use of construction materials with elevated activity concentration levels; assessment of the influence of the widespread use of air conditioning on indoor radon and thoron levels; the lack of data characterising atmospheric properties (AMAD, aerosol size distribution, fp-value, F-value) in an aera with pronounced urban air pollution in combination with elevated radon levels; quantification of the contribution from thoron and its decay products; lack of data on the occupational exposure to elevated NRE-levels. However, it is stressed that the successfull implementation and the timely implementation of the plan will depend basically on two issues:
a) the timely provision of the adequate equipment, i.e. one dose rate meter suitable for environmental gamma levels, and accessories for the already supplied PYLON radon system to enable radon decay product
measurements;
b) the availability of additional manpower, i.e. one technical assistant for a minimum period of 6 months.
