MINIMUM WEN (INDUSTRY) CONVENTION (REVISED), 1937 (10. 59) under the Labour Standards (Non-Metropolitan Teritories

Convention, 1947 (Bc. 83)

This convention has been applied with modification to Hong Kong since 27th March 1950 by a declaration registered by the I.L.C. and the modification was improved by a further declaration registered by the I.L.C. on 23rd December 1980. The declarations were communicated to the I.L.O. by the J.K. Govemment in connection with the ratification of the Labour Standards (Non-Metropolitan Territories) Convention, 1947 (To. 83).

This is a full report by the Government of Hong Kong on the application of this Convention. It supersedes all previous reports.

QUESTION I

(

The provisions of this convention are applied by :

(a) the Factories and Industrial Undertakings

Ordinance, Thapter 59, and subsidiary legislation made thereunder;

(b) the Employment Ordinance, Chapter 57; 2nd subsi-

diary legislation made thereunder;

(c) the Mining Ordinance, Chapter 285, and subsidiary

legislation made thereunder;

(a) the Education Ordinance, Chapter 279, and subsi-

diary legislation made thereunder;

(e) the Apprenticeship Ordinance, Chapter 47, and

subsidiary legislation made thereunder;

(f) the Registration of Persons (Amendment) Ordinance,

1973, and subsidiary legislation mode thereunder; and

(a) the Births and Deaths Registration Ordinance,

Chapter 174.

Three copies each of (a), (b) and (c) were attached to the report on Conven- tion No. 82 for the four-year period ending 30th June 1982; three copies of (d) were attached to the report on this Convention for the one-year period ending 30th June 1979; three copies of (e) were attached to the report on Convention No. 82 for the four-year period ending 30th June 1982 and three copies of its amendment since 1982 were attached to the current report on Convention No. 61; three cupies of (2) were attached to the report on this convention for the two-year period ending 30th June 1975; and three copies of (g) were attached to the report on this convention for the one-year period ending 30th June 1979.
