Report for the period 1 July 1987 to 30 June 1991 on the application in Hong Kong of the

MINIMUM AGE (AGRICULTURE) CONVENTION, 1921 (No. 10) which was ratified by the United Kingdom on 11 July 1963

This convention has been applied in Hong Kong with modification respect of Article 1 by a declaration registered by the International Labour Organisation (ILO) on 3 March 1980. The modification is:

"Children under the age of 14 years but who have attained the age of 13 years and have completed Form III of secondary education (i.e. three years of secondary education after six years' primary schooling) may, with the written consent of one of their parents, be employed, under certain conditions designed to protect their health, welfare and morals, in agricultural undertakings which do not come within the definition of an industrial undertaking under the Factories and Industrial Undertakings Ordinance."

Three copies of (a) and its amendments were attached respectively to the report on Convention No. 105 for the period ending 30 June 1989 and the report on Convention No. 101 for the period ending 30 June 1990. Three copies of (b) were attached to the report on Convention No. 81 for the period ending 30 June 1987. Three copies each of (c), (d) and (e) were attached to the report on Convention No. 59 for the period ending 30 June 1987.
