Medical supervision of workers exposed to special occupational due to air pollution is provided under the following pieces of
hazards legislation
(a) Regulations 16C to 16E of the Factories and Industrial
Undertakings Regulations relating to underground workers;
(b)
Part VI of the Factories and Industrial Undertakings (Work in Compressed Air) Regulations relating to compressed air workers;
(c) Regulations
Radioactive
13 and 14 of the Radiation (Control of Substances) Regulations relating to workers regulation 17 of the same

these provisions include pre-employment examinations.

Should special occupational hazards be detected in other types of employment, Occupational Health Officers of the Labour Department will arrange for medical examinations of those workers exposed to such hazards, the ccst of which will be borne by the Government. Costs of statutory meuical supervision are borne by employers.
