Report for the period 1 July 1987 to 30 June 1989 on the application in Hong Kong of the

WORKING ENVIRONMENT (AIR POLLUTION, NOISE AND VIBRATION) CONVENTION, 1977 (NO. 148)

which was ratified by the United Kingdom on 8 March 1979

This convention has been applied to Hong Kong with modification respect of Article 1 by a declaration registered by the International Labour Organisation (ILO) on 9 April 1981. By the modification, agriculture, animal husbandry, fishing, forestry and marine transport are excluded from the

application of this convention in respect of air pollution.

The Government of Hong Kong has not accepted the other obligations regarding noise and vibration since the United Kingdom has initially accepted the obligations in respect of air pollution only.

This is a full report by the Government of Hong Kong. It supersedes all previous reports on the application of this convention.
