REMAINING STEPS TO BE TAKEN BY IMF STAFF MISSION TO COMPLETE CONSULTATION EXERCISE

Since Hong Kong has reverted to the 12-month cycle, the remaining steps will be the same as with the past. The staff mission will prepare a background paper and a staff report containing analysis, projection and comments on policy orientation. These will be discussed by the IMF Executive Board and the UK Executive Director will present any comments which the Hong Kong Government may have. The process will end with a summing-up by the Board, which will be circulated as an official Board document.
