5. I should also be grateful if UKRep could seek to obtain the written agreement of the Commission and other Member States (see paragraph 7 of my letter of 18 February to Simon Featherstone) that the correct interpretation of Article 4 of the Protocol and of Articles 8 - 12 of the new Regulation is that Taiwan is not subject to trade controls.
