1. Please see the attached faxes from Mike Hurley with his latest quarterly economic report for ATTC, London. (I wrote to him last week after picking up a very out-of-date country profile on Taiwan which was the best that was available from the ATTC Office in Croydon.)

2. You will see that from 1 April ATTC Taipei will have a new LEL Officer dealing with economic reporting. It seems to me that all of us interested in economic reporting from Taipei should liaise and ensure that Taipei gets clear guidance as to what is required and who should be copied in. This might include CTU HK and Peking. Within the FCO, FED, Economic Advisers, RAD and perhaps HKD should be on the distribution list of whatever is produced regularly, be it monthly, every two months or quarterly.

3. Economic Reporting is on the agenda for the ATTC meeting on 4 March, which I suggest to attend.
