He returned to HK in 1966 and was appointed Legco Member in 1978 and Exco Meaber in 1985. In 1998, he became Senior Legco Member. He had served as Chairman of the Broadcasting Authority, the General Chamber of Commerce and member of numerous advisory committees,

His public service also includes: member of Management Committee of the United Stock Exchange and Commissioner for Commodities Trading. Mr Wu received his education abroad. He worked as a nuclear power engineer in Canada for four years before coming back to HK in 1981 to assist his father in the financial business. Often known as "son of the King of Gold", he is proprietor of Lee Cheong Goldsmith's Shop.

Worked and held key positions in his cousin's weaving and dyeing factory on his return to HK. Represented his factory in the

CMA and later became CMA's executive committee member.
