Dear Mike,
As I have informed you, Monitoring proposes to introduce some changes to our daily printed publications - the Summary of World Broadcasts, Monitoring Report and World Broadcasting Information. The aim is to make immediate improvements to the accessibility, consistency of presentation and coherence of the publications.
The changes some of them minor, others more far-reaching - cover aspects of the structure, style and organisation of the publications. They are an initial response to changing needs of SWB customers expressed to us in customer surveys. We hope that government readers too will find the revamped publications easier to use.
Our intention is to maintain the range and improve the quality of the information published. There will be no effect on our ability to achieve the agreed targets related to your priority requirements.
We plan to begin to produce the revamped publications in summer this year. I would be grateful if you would circulate the enclosed details of the proposed changes amongst official users of the publications so that we can take account of any comments or suggestions they may have.
