During my recent visit to Hong Kong (1-2 February 1993), I discussed briefly with the DHM (PSO) on the telephone whether or not Post were still keen to go 'on line' to Government House (Comms Centre).

2. I now understand that Post have reconsidered their need for this and feel that they cannot justify this requirement. They are looking at the possible use of the HKG Courier Service. More relevant, they also have the temporary services of a PV (TS) UK driver on LE terms who undertakes deliveries of classified material. In view of this, I agreed we should relegate this request to the back burner.
