The competitor of the Hong Kong Economic Journal. The newspaper is independent, but its most popular commentator (Michael Wong) is currently hostile to Britain, and especially to the Governor. The newspaper is owned by Adsale People (a company involved heavily in China trade). It has freelance correspondents in London.
Wah Kiu Yat Po
Circulation: 80,000 (non ABC)
Since being purchased by the South China Morning Post in 1992 the newspaper has increasingly become a Chinese version of the SCMP, although its comments are independent. Its target readers are those in the business sector.

A communist newspaper totally subsidized by the Chinese government.
The Chief Editor is appointed by the New China News Agency in Hong Kong. Its "Letter from the Editor" is written by the NCNA or the Hong Kong and Macao Office. It has an office in London with a team of correspondents. The European edition is published in London.

100,000 (non ABC)
Similar to the Wen Wei Po in terms of its relations with Peking and the NCNA. Traditionally, it is aimed at businessmen as opposed to the Wen Wei's target of workers and students. correspondents in London but no office.
