World Service Television was set up in 1991 as a

commercial subsidiary of the BBC with no outside

investors. It has since made commercial agreements

for the provision of the service in various parts of

the world, including one with Hutchvision of Hong Kong

in which Mr Li Ka Shing has an interest.
