Then back from the Capitol to the Residence for lunch. lunch, various members of the new Administration will be attending that: Les Aspin probably, Bruce Babett, who is the Secretary of the Environment, Ron Brown, Secretary for Commerce, Ambassador Mickey Cantour, the Secretary for Trade, Tony Lake, he is our replacement to Brent Scowcroft, and Robert Reisch, the Secretary of Labour, amongst others. Following the lunch there will be separate meetings, bilaterals, with Les Aspin and James Wolsey who is' the new Director of the CIA.

Then we will be leaving the Residence for the White House where the Prime Minister will be meeting with the President. should start around 1500. They will come out, I hope, for a statement to the press between 1610 and 1630, we have managed to drag that forward to accommodate our 5 hour delay. Then they will go back into talks, leading on to dinner. At dinner it will be

the President and the Vice-President with the Prime Minister and that will be between 1900 - 2100. We expect them to leave the White House around 2100. So that is it for the Wednesday,

On the Thursday the Prime Minister will be doing various media work with US and British television and then departing for the UK, leaving Andrews Air Force Base around 1100 which means we will get back late at night. So the Prime Minister unfortunately will miss Questions on Thursday.
