As promised in our telno 347 of today's date, I attach a revised draft statement for the Governor to use in the Legislative Council tomorrow afternoon if by then we are unable to announce a date for talks.

I am also attaching a revised version of the draft statement announcing talks, which takes into account your own comments, which Peter Ricketts also endorsed.

The Governor has not yet cleared these statements. lle will see them within the next two hours. We will let you know any comments he may have.
