The comments in paras 7-8 above also apply to Korean. The Embassy in Seoul commented in their last TMR return that the BBC World Service has a small if loyal audience and that the World Service TV audience is large and growing. It may be therefore that any spare funds might be better channelled towards the television rather than hiring time on FM transmitters. As with Japan, no attempt is made to define or quantify the potential audience in Korea for a jointly-run European service.
