SWIRE HOUSE

59 BUCKINGHAM GATE

LONDON SW1E 6AJ

8 February 1993

Dear Dunglas

It is now some three years since you were last able to lunch with the Hong Kong Association, and we wonder whether you would be free to come again in the next months. We have identified Thursday 17th June as one possible date with your office.

A great deal has happened since your last meeting with the Association; and by June, you will presumably have made your visit to Beijing and we shall have a better idea of the fate of

Governor's constitutional proposals. It would be very helpful and a great encouragement to the Association if you were able to accept an invitation in the reasonably near future, despite the many other calls on your time. You will recall that the occasion is off-the-record and no speech is required, which may make it more attractive!

I very much hope you will accept our invitation.

yu

Jay.
